D.J. Molles Sold Rights To ‘The Remaining’, Movie Being Produced?
The rumor mill has been running rampant. The word on the street, is that D.J. Molles, famed zombie author, sold the rights to The Remaining series in order to make a movie.
D.J. Molles stepped in on his Facebook page to crush the rumors:
Let me take, a quick moment to address the “movie thing”…
There is a movie entitled The Remaining. It is in no way, shape, or form related to my books. If it is some Hollywoodite’s attempt to rip me off, then I think it is a poor one. I am not a movie critic, but I will simply say that I am not worried about this movie taking anything away from my series while it languishes in the dark corners of Redbox machines for a few months and then is forgotten. Nor should any of my wonderful readers be concerned with it.
When there is a movie that is actually from my books, I will be the first to let you all know!
Hopefully this clears up any confusion. Back to work…I have a deadline to meet!
Now, there is a movie called The Remaining, currently under production. Unfortunately, for us it’s not the one we hoped for.
The Remaining concerns a group of close-knit friends that come together to celebrate the marriage of Skylar (Vega) and Dan (Dechart). The group is enjoying the festivities when tragedy strikes. The wedding party is besieged by a series of catastrophic events which turns the celebration into a life-and-death struggle.
The young group is desperately scrambling for refuge and self-preservation while an enemy they never knew existed unleashes its wrath against those remaining alive. They must understand what is happening around them and why and find a way to survive together in a new world of death and destruction. Read more…
